Dan Aune

Mr. Aune’s training and technical assistance consulting portfolio includes work in philanthropy, behavioral health and healthcare integration, organizational capacity building, Tribal Health Sovereignty involving 638 Compact/Contract transitions, and the development of sustainable financing strategies for community-based integrated primary and behavioral health projects in over 15 states and 30 Tribal nations. Dan is considered a national resource for bringing sustainable integrated primary and behavioral healthcare to Tribal and rural communities.

 

Dan focuses on technical assistance and training in the behavioral health space, building sustainable behavioral health and healthcare delivery systems. He previously served as Executive Director of a mental health advocacy organization in Montana for eight years. Prior to that, he was the Business Development Director and Senior Consultant for a national behavioral health consulting group. In this role, he developed consulting businesses across the United States, including state and county governments and private primary care, conducted industry conferences and events, and built operational capacity with behavioral health providers. Dan has managed numerous behavioral health (inpatient and outpatient) and residential settings across the country, including Kentucky, North Dakota, Minnesota, and Montana. In addition to his work with Nokomis Strategies, Dan is the President of Aune Associates Consulting.
