Keja Whiteman

Ms. Whiteman’s technical assistance and training portfolio focuses on the social determinants of health, emphasizing the importance of building healthy communities and families. She believes that healthy communities require stable economies, adequate housing, quality education, access to services, infrastructure (including Internet), and systems that enable people to thrive. Keja provides experienced leadership and strategic support across various service lines, focusing on executive mentoring, executive recruitment, interim management, and tribal health sovereignty.

 

The development of Nokomis Strategies is the culmination of Keja’s professional experiences. Starting as a school social worker, Keja advanced to leadership roles, including serving as Chief Executive Officer for a tribally-operated health organization, Executive Director of the Alaska Native Village Corporation Association, and a three-term elected official. Keja has over 20 years of on-the-ground leadership experience, enabling her to build, strengthen, or transform organizations. Additionally, Keja has supported programs and projects at both developmental and operational levels, including infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, runways, libraries, health clinics, schools, and broadband), economic development, workforce development, behavioral health and substance use disorder services, and local, regional, and national communications campaigns.
